The Passion For Hummus
Our founder, Steven Berkun-Drevnig, has always loved hummus. But a trip to Israel in the summer of 2019 changed everything. When Steven visited the ancient city of Jaffa, where his great-grandfather once worked as a baker, he discovered hummus that was far superior to anything he had eaten back at home. After returning to Toronto, Steven started trying all of the hummus that he could find in local grocery stores and restaurants, looking for something that could capture the same magic. Not being satisfied, he started to make his own. After experimenting with many dozens of batches, Steven arrived at a hummus recipe that will bring anyone to the streets of Jaffa.
